BWP & Associates Invites Applications for Superintendent of Schools
School City of East Chicago, IN
The School City of East Chicago (SCEC) in East Chicago, Indiana is seeking a superintendent to lead the district and community in the pursuit of educational excellence beginning July 1, 2024. The five-member Board of Education and the East Chicago community at-large are looking for an inspirational, engaging, knowledgeable leader with a proven track record of success. The Superintendent’s primary task will be to champion the district’s vision of “being a dynamic, motivational, flexible, and cooperative community of students, parents, educators, residents, agencies and businesses learning, dialoguing and sharing.”
The SCEC Board is driven by the value that “every student is entitled to and shall be provided challenging educational experiences and opportunities to ensure meaningful participation in a global, diverse, technology-oriented environment.” Additionally, the school board welcomes and encourages parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and the greater East Chicago community to take an active and meaningful role in the education of all students.
The mission of School City of East Chicago states that the district is “committed to developing a community of life-long learners who are empowered to access, possess, evaluate and ethically apply information in an ever-changing global society.”
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a proven record of success working in a diverse community similar to SCEC; document fiscal acumen; be able to lead a school board; and possess broad and in-depth knowledge in the area of curriculum and instruction.
