All digital curriculum and classroom activities will be conducted using school-issued devices (e.g., Chromebooks/iPads/Laptops).

Per SB 78, personal devices are no longer permitted for instructional use.

All devices must be stored in School Lockers (All devices must be powered OFF).

To ensure a distraction-free learning environment and ensure compliance with state law, students are required to store all personal electronic devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, handheld gaming devices, tablets, iPads, and Meta glasses, in their assigned school lockers.

NO ACCESS at any time during passing periods, lunch periods, or while in the hallways.

• Confiscation: Any device found on a student’s person after the first bell (including in pockets or backpacks) will be confiscated and held in the front office for (parent/guardian pickup).
• Good-Faith Immunity: Under SB 78, SCEC and its employees are immune from civil liability for the loss, theft, or damage of any device confiscated or stored in compliance with this policy.

• Medical Management: Documentation from a health care provider.
• IEP/504 Plans: As required by a student’s individualized education or disability plan.
• Language Support: For multilingual learners, if school-provided translation tools are unavailable.
